(June 20, 2018)–National PTA urges Congress and the administration to immediately stop the zero-tolerance policy that is resulting in harmful separation of undocumented children from their parents and family members.     Emma Brown, 2018 Graduate of Charter School of Wilmington received a $1000.00 scholarship from the Delaware PTA Betty Lewis Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is awarded to graduating Delaware students planning to pursue a career in Education or Early Childhood Education. Brown is a member of the Charter School of Wilmington Volley Ball team and the Crew Team where she has serve as team captain. The Delaware Department of Education announces the U.S. Department of Agriculture policy for free and reduced price meals for children unable to pay the full price for meals served under the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and After School Snack Program. Each participating school and its administrative office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party. Meal benefit forms will be sent home with a letter to families. National PTA will be hosting a Youth Advocacy Summit this Fall from October 14-16, 2018 in Alexandria, VA. The summit will host 10-12 active PTA or PTSA members, or National Supporting Members, between the ages of 18-22 (at the time of the summit), who exemplify the qualities of creativity, leadership and dedication, and have positively affected policy or change in his or her school or community in a way that aligns with PTA’s mission and public policy agenda. The application for the summit is open now and the deadline for nominations is July 15, 2018. The application, along with a
