Delaware PTA is proud to announce that this year’s winners of the Betty Lewis Scholarship are Payton Keeler and Charlotte Pollock. Each of them received a $500 scholarship from the Delaware PTA Betty Lewis Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is awarded to graduating Delaware students planning to pursue a career in Education or Early Childhood Education.
Payton Keeler is a 2023 graduate of Woodbridge High School, where she played field hockey, basketball and softball and served as President of the National Honor Society, Treasurer of the Spanish National Honor Society and Secretary of Educators Rising. Outside of school, Payton has coached field hockey and softball as well as volunteers in her church and the community. Payton will be attending Newberry College in the fall on a field hockey and academic scholarship where she plans to pursue a degree in Physical Education and Health (K-12).
Charlotte Pollock, a 2023 graduate of A.I. duPont High School, was an active member of the band, National Honor Society, DECA and theatre. She has served in leadership positions on various school committees as well as president of the school band her senior year. Charlotte is also a Girl Scout and has earned the highest achievement of the Girl Scouts of America, the Gold Award, for creating an international music display for her girl scout camp. Charlotte will attend the University of Rhode Island in the fall where she plans to pursue a degree in Secondary Education (Math).
