Christina PTA Council Urges Legislators to Fund Education

On behalf of parents, students and teachers in the Christina school district, Christina PTA Council President Mary Schorse sent the following letter to the Delaware General Assembly today Christina Council Budget Letter Schorse echos the sentiments of hundreds of families and educators throughout the state. Senate Dear Colleague Letter to Support SFECs Submitted Yesterday

Dear PTA Leaders, On May 25, the U.S. Senate’s deadline to receive Dear Colleague letters closed and  we are happy to announce that this year PTA was able to garner a bipartisan group of 28 Senators to sign on to the Dear Colleague letter in support of funding for Statewide Family Engagement Centers (SFECs), which is 6 more Senators than we had on last year’s letter. As you know the Governor’s proposed budget cuts pose a serious threat to public education in Delaware. It is imperative that everyone contact their local legislators and urge them to reject the proposed budget.
