Announcing the 2018 Delaware PTA Scholarship Recipient

    Emma Brown, 2018 Graduate of Charter School of Wilmington received a $1000.00 scholarship from the Delaware PTA Betty Lewis Scholarship Fund. This scholarship is awarded to graduating Delaware students planning to pursue a career in Education or Early Childhood Education. Brown is a member of the Charter School of Wilmington Volley Ball team and the Crew Team where she has serve as team captain. The Delaware Department of Education announces the U.S. Department of Agriculture policy for free and reduced price meals for children unable to pay the full price for meals served under the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and After School Snack Program. Each participating school and its administrative office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed by any interested party. Meal benefit forms will be sent home with a letter to families. Application Open for National PTA’s 2018 Youth Advocacy Summit

National PTA will be hosting a Youth Advocacy Summit this Fall from October 14-16, 2018 in Alexandria, VA. The summit will host 10-12 active PTA or PTSA members, or National Supporting Members, between the ages of 18-22 (at the time of the summit), who exemplify the qualities of creativity, leadership and dedication, and have positively affected policy or change in his or her school or community in a way that aligns with PTA’s mission and public policy agenda. Delaware PTA Elects New President and 1st Vice President

April 28, 2018 Today at the voting body of the Delaware State PTA elected Julie Alvarez as the new State President during the 108th Annual State Convention. Alvarez succeeds Dr. Terri Hodges, who served as the State President for five years. A resident of the Red Clay School District, Julie served in various leadership positions with the North Star PTA before being appointed by Dr. Hodges to serves as Delaware PTA’s interim 1st VP earlier this year.
