H.B. duPont PTA Recipient of the NPTA Mary Lou Anderson Arts Enhancement Grant

June 15, 2017 We are excited to announce that H.B.duPont PTA in the Red Clay school district has been named a recipient of the 2017 Mary Lou Anderson ArtsEd grant. H.B duPont will receive $1,000.00 from National PTA to support their arts projects during the 2017-2018 school year. du Pont’s 2017-2018 Proposed Project: H.B. du Pont Meadowood Warriors Empty Bowls Family Arts Project. 204 students will create pottery in their art class, that will be decorated during a family art night (48 families). Education Funding Rally

The clock is ticking and we need to continue to apply pressure to oppose the proposed education budget cuts. Our schools and students simply cannot afford these steep cuts. The Education Funding Campaign has planned a rally for Tuesday June 20. As a coalition partner, Delaware PTA will be part of the rally. President of the Christina PTA Council Mary Schorse will speak at the rally on behalf of Delaware PTA. We strongly encourage all students, parents, teachers and community members to come out and join the rally. We need to support those legislators that are resisting the education cuts.

Allen Frear PTA Receives Grant Award

Allen Frear PTA in the Caesar Rodney school district was awarded the National PTA Action for Healthy Kids “Parents for Healthy Kids Game on Grant”. Action for Healthy Kids, supported by ALDI and in collaboration with National PTA awarded approximately 600 schools with Game On grants for the 2017-2018 school year. These grants provide funding for physical activity and nutrition initiatives that support schools in becoming nationally recognized as health-promoting. The grants, funded by ALDI, aim to expand student access to in-school physical activity and healthy foods, improve knowledge and behaviors around exercise and nutrition, and provide funding and support to PTAs
