Delaware PTA Position Statements are official documents outlining the opinion, will, or intent of the association to address national, state and/or local problems, situations, or concerns that affect children and youth and require action to seek resolution on the issue. Delaware PTA has adopted several position statements on a wide variety of national/state education, health, and safety issues. In addition, to our state level position statements on a variety of issues, our advocacy includes those position statements also adopted by National PTA. Delaware PTA wants to celebrate the wonderful things your PTA is doing! Local PTA units bring amazing, innovative programs and services to children and families every day. This year every PTA unit will have the opportunity to share their successes by applying for the following awards.  The award descriptions are below. Applications are open to all PTA/PTSAs who are in Good Standing with Delaware PTA.   Eligible programs/activities must take place during the 2017 calendar year. Delaware PTA is excited to partner with the Beau Biden Foundation to offer the Light’s Stewards of Children program to our members. This essential training is designed to educate adults on how to prevent, recognize and respond responsibly to child sexual abuse. The session will also focus on mandatory reporting laws in Delaware. This session is open to all PTA members. Attending educators will receive a certificate for completion of Evidence-Informed Training.
