As the school year comes to an end, Delaware PTA would like to thank all of our hard working parents, teachers and students for another successful year. We have developed an End of Year Checklist to assist in wrapping up end of the year business.
This year we saw many changes and encountered many challenges. As a result, we saw many parents and teachers rise up in action and make their voices heard. Together we made our voices heard on issues such as proposed changes to district dress codes, changes in the state assessments, the parent opt out, student data privacy, changes to the school calendars, special education legislation and student funding in public education. This is what PTA is about; speaking for every child with one voice.
State leadership will continue to work throughout the summer months developing upcoming leadership trainings and updating our strategic plan to move the organization forward with a focus on advocacy and membership growth for the upcoming school year. As always, we encourage our local members to join the discussion and take advantage of opportunities to serve at the state level. Please take a moment to review our call for nominations for the 2015-17 term, as well as various committee member/chair positions.
