Global Education Event in Delaware

I’m pleased to share with you news about an exciting event that the Rodel Foundation of Delaware is hosting on Friday, April 4. More details are below. Seating is limited, so please reserve your spot soon if you’re interested in attending.

You are invited to attend a presentation on Friday, April 4, by Andreas Schleicher, known as the “world’s schoolmaster.” Schleicher is a member of the Rodel Foundation of Delaware’s International Advisory Group and Division Head and Coordinator of the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD)’s Program for International Student Assessment (PISA). PISA is an international survey which aims to evaluate education systems worldwide by testing the skills and knowledge of 15-year-old students.

This event, which will take place from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm in Wilmington, Delaware, will be focused on ways in which Delaware has and can continue to improve its public education system so that it is on par with high-performing nations.
Schleicher will be presenting on how Delaware’s educational outcomes compare globally, as well as lessons from PISA that can be applied in our state.

Joanne Weiss, former Chief of Staff to Secretary Arne Duncan at the U.S. Department of Education, will facilitate a conversation with other International Advisory Group members Ben Jensen (Director of the School Education Program at the Grattan Institute in Australia) and Jim Dueck (former Assistant Deputy Minister of Education, Alberta, Canada) in response to Schleicher’s presentation.
Attendees will then have the opportunity to further the discussion during a question and answer session.

The event will be held on Friday, April 4, from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, at the Hotel DuPont in Wilmington, Delaware. Seats are limited. I encourage you to attend this unique event, featuring these international experts together for the first time, right here in Delaware. We hope that you will be able to join this “not-to-be-missed” conversation to further build on the successes in Delaware public education.
Please RSVP for this important event to Nancy Millard at nmillard@rodelfoundationde.org.
