Christina Cultural Arts Center 705 North Market, Wilmington, DE, United StatesThe Delaware Department of Education will host four community conversations this month to collect public input that will inform the first draft of the state’s plan under the new federal Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). A second round of conversations is planned for later in the fall to receive feedback on the draft plan. In December 2015, Congress reauthorized the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), the main federal law governing public education. The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) replaces the No Child Left Behind Act (NCLB). As part of NCLB, Delaware is one of the 43 states operating under

Warner Elementary School 801 West 18th St, Wilmington, DE, United StatesThe Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires states to release an annual report card on every public school's performance in multiple area and demographics. According to the Delaware Department of Education, Delaware law requires additional information and data be included in the annual report card. Delaware is making changes to the annual report card to meet new federal guidelines by 2018-19. The revisions will be developed in consultation with stakeholders through a series of community conversations throughout the state.
