STATE TO NAME 2015 TEACHER OF THE YEAR FROM AMONG 20 NOMINEES

 Twenty Delaware teachers have been nominated for the honor of being named Delaware’s Teacher of the Year for 2015. Selected from among the 9,000 public school teachers in the state, the nominees each represent one of the state’s 19 school districts or charter schools. Delaware PTA encourages parents and teachers to attend these meeting and to provide public comment on your experiences and thoughts for improving the IEP process and outcomes. This public comment is typically 3 minutes for each person making a statement and takes place at the end of the meetings. Reflections Training

       SAVE THE DATE   Reflections is a National PTA arts recognition program that provides children in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 with the opportunity to express themselves through the arts.  Students have the opportunity to enter in any of the six art areas:  Literature, Music Composition, Film Production, Photography, Visual Arts, and Dance Choreography. The training is open to new and veteran program participants. IEP improvement task force meeting Good evening PTA family, This is just a reminder the IEP task force will hold its first meeting this Thursday September 4th. It is our understanding that the task force will make recommendations to improve the way schools create Individualized Education Plans for students with disabilities. Delaware PTA Exceptional Child Chair Liz Toney will represent Delaware PTA and PTA families on the task force.
