Please join Delaware PTA in supporting the Delaware Kids Hope Trust by signing the petition urging the General Assembly and Governor Carney to allocate the 55 million in unanticipated revenue for these proposed initiatives. You can read all the details of the  Hope-Trust-Full-Plan   as well as Delaware PTA’s statement of support which demonstrates how these proposed initiatives align with the mission and vision of PTA. Congratulations to Mount Pleasant Elementary PTA and Maple Lane PTA in the Brandywine School District. Both units applied for and received a $1000.00 grant from Target as part of Target’s commitment to local youth soccer. The grant will support player registration fees, player & field equipment, as well as professional development for volunteer coaches. Just another example of PTAs leveraging community partnerships to support our communities and students. #ValueofPTA

We are pleased to announce the following students have been selected as the Reflection Theme Search winners at the state level. We received more than 100 entries this year from a lot of talented students, so it was a tough decision. These entries will be sent to National PTA and judged at the National level. One exceptional theme will be chosen February 1, 2018 to inspire creativity for the 2019-2020 PTA Reflections program theme. Delaware PTA Position Statements are official documents outlining the opinion, will, or intent of the association to address national, state and/or local problems, situations, or concerns that affect children and youth and require action to seek resolution on the issue. Delaware PTA has adopted several position statements on a wide variety of national/state education, health, and safety issues. In addition, to our state level position statements on a variety of issues, our advocacy includes those position statements also adopted by National PTA. Delaware PTA wants to celebrate the wonderful things your PTA is doing! Local PTA units bring amazing, innovative programs and services to children and families every day. This year every PTA unit will have the opportunity to share their successes by applying for the following awards.  The award descriptions are below. Applications are open to all PTA/PTSAs who are in Good Standing with Delaware PTA.   Eligible programs/activities must take place during the 2017 calendar year. Delaware PTA is excited to partner with the Beau Biden Foundation to offer the Light’s Stewards of Children program to our members. This essential training is designed to educate adults on how to prevent, recognize and respond responsibly to child sexual abuse. The session will also focus on mandatory reporting laws in Delaware. This session is open to all PTA members. Attending educators will receive a certificate for completion of Evidence-Informed Training.
