ECG Heart Screening Event

ECG Heart Screening Event at Springer Middle School on Saturday January 25 from 8am – 4pm.  It will be open to ANY and ALL students in Middle School and High School. The screenings are FREE. We must cap at 350 screenings. FIRST COME….FIRST SERVED. The mission of HEART IN THE GAME is to create awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in children and young adults through the formation of community access programs in 1) ECG Screening 2) CPR Training and 3)  AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Training. ALERT: 01/22/14 Reflections Drop-Off Postponed

Due to the inclement weather, the Reflections drop-off scheduled for Wednesday, January 22 from 10 – 11:30am has been postponed.  Submissions can still be brought to the Delaware PTA office on January 28th from 5:30 – 7pm.   A new daytime drop-off will be determined shortly.   Any questions please contact Terri Carpe terri.carpe@delawarepta.org  or Vanessa Gallaher vrlovessg@yahoo.com.

Shirley Igo Advocate of the Year Ambassador Award

  Yvonne Johnson, Winner of the 2014 Shirley Igo Advocate of the Year Ambassador Award The 2014 Shirley Igo Advocate of the Year Ambassador Award is presented to an individual PTA member, who through their leadership and advocacy efforts, affected federal policy priorities within PTA’s annual Public Policy Agenda. Shirley was a model of public service and volunteerism throughout her life. She was an impassioned and compassionate leader, dedicated to moving PTA forward and committed to ensuring that others would follow.  Yvonne will accept the award during the 2014 National PTA Legislative Conference in Washington DC next in March.

Every Child In Focus – December: Special Education Special Education ToolKit Every Child in Focus reinforces National PTA’s mission to advocate for every child—with one voice—so all families feel invited and welcomed within PTA, and are equipped with the tools to support their child and improve the school, which makes a difference for every child.
