2015 New Office Leadership Training

Leadership Training for PTA Officers  Please join us on Tuesday, June 2nd for the 2015 Leadership Training at our state office located at 925 Bear Corbitt RD, Bear DE 19701   Sign-in begins at 5:45 pm and training will begin promptly at 6:00pm and end at 8:00pm We will meet in the library. Christina Families: FOCSD Referendum Meeting Reminder

Just a friendly reminder that FOCSD will meet on Monday, April 27, at 7:00 in the Downes cafeteria to discuss the upcoming referendum and ways FOCSD can help support it. In response to public input, the district has revised its list of proposed cuts in the event that the ref. FAILS ($9.5 million in cuts required) or passes ($1.8 million in cuts still necessary, due to the reduced referendum request in comparison to February’s). 2015 Youth Leadership Submit Postponed

Hi all,  Thank you all for your support over these last few months in trying to organize this Spring DPTA 2015 Youth Summit. Even though we know that our marketing efforts were seen throughout the community and that many of our PTA units and schools buildings supported our efforts by printing off the posters themselves and hanging them in their buildings, distributing postcards this last week, and sharing the information across their networks these last 6 weeks, unfortunately this has not translated into strong registration numbers.As of today, we simply do not have enough attendees even registered to have the

Delaware PTA’s Response to Press Release on SBAC and DE Higher Ed Institutions

  In a statement made today by Governor Markell, Delaware PTA learned that the four colleges; Wilmington University, University of Delaware, Delaware Technical and Community College and Delaware State University have all agreed that the outcomes of the 11th grade Smarter Balanced Assessments is a good indicator of college readiness. In addition, these institutions have all agreed to accept the assessment in lieu of other placement exams.
