As the school year comes to an end, Delaware PTA would like to thank all of our hard working parents, teachers and students for another successful year.  We have developed an End of Year Checklist to assist in wrapping up end of the year business.   This year we saw many changes and encountered many challenges. Delaware PTA is pleased to announce that we have joined a coalition of national and state civil rights and education advocacy groups to bring awareness and education to the damaging effects that high stakes testing has on equity in education in our public education system.  The Network for Public Education’s Board of Directors, in conjunction with Jesse Hagopian recently released statements in response to the Leadership Conference statement opposing the opt out movement. You can read both statements here. Delaware PTA would like to extend our heart felt condolences to the Biden family during this difficult time. Beau Biden represented Delaware with integrity, commitment and compassion. He was a great friend and champion for PTA, engaging families on issues such as school safety and bullying. As the school year closes, most of you have either completed or are in the process of completing your board elections for the 2015-16 school year. Leadership Training for PTA Officers  Please join us on Tuesday, June 2nd for the 2015 Leadership Training at our state office located at 925 Bear Corbitt RD, Bear DE 19701   Sign-in begins at 5:45 pm and training will begin promptly at 6:00pm and end at 8:00pm We will meet in the library. Be sure to enter through the side door facing the daycare center. All newly elected PTA officers that will be serving for the 2015-16 school year should attend Leadership Training.
