The PTA Family Reading Experience, Powered by Kindle is a program that helps children become better readers and helps foster the love of reading through a set of free literacy activities that are fun for the whole family. Please join Delaware PTA in congratulating the winners of the 2015-16 Reflections program!  This year’s theme was ‘Let Your Imagination Fly’.  The winner in each category will be competing at the National PTA level.   National PTA winners will be announced on May 1, 2016.  You may see the complete list at PTA.org/Reflections in the “Gallery and Awards” section on that date.   These students’ accomplishments will be honoured at the Reflections Award Ceremony on Monday, April 25th at 6pm at Newark High School.   Their entries will be displayed for all to admire.    Dance Primary:               Hannah Patterson – Maclary

  U.S. Senator Tom Carper will host an information session for students, parents, teachers and counselors who are interested in attending a Service Academy after high school on Wednesday, February 17, 2016, from 6 – 8 pm at Delaware Technical Community College’s Dover Campus. On hand will be representatives from the Congressional Delegation offices, United States Naval Academy, United States Air Force Academy, United States Merchant Marine Academy, United States Military Academy, United States Coast Guard Academy, Delaware National Guard, U.S. Navy, Air Force and Army R.O.T.C. Parents & Teachers: The next Assessment Inventory Task Force (SJR 2) meeting is Tuesday Jan 19th from 5:30pm -7:30pm at the Townsend Building in Dover in case anyone is interesting in attending. We encourage all parents and teachers to attend as members of the public. This task force was created to review all state and local mandated assessments with the intent of reducing the amount of testing our children receive. As a reminder, this committee has no true parent representation, so it is important that parents attend these meetings to provide input. True parent representation is a parent who has
