Senate Dear Colleague Letter to Support SFECs Submitted Yesterday

Dear PTA Leaders, On May 25, the U.S. Senate’s deadline to receive Dear Colleague letters closed and  we are happy to announce that this year PTA was able to garner a bipartisan group of 28 Senators to sign on to the Dear Colleague letter in support of funding for Statewide Family Engagement Centers (SFECs), which is 6 more Senators than we had on last year’s letter. This is a huge accomplishment that could not be done without all of your hard work and advocacy efforts at the local and state levels.  Great job everyone and thank you for all that

Education Funding – Sample Call Script

As you know the Governor’s proposed budget cuts pose a serious threat to public education in Delaware. It is imperative that everyone contact their local legislators and urge them to reject the proposed budget. On behalf of the Education Funding Campaign, we are sharing the attached call script with you to use when contacting your local legislators. National PTA Statement on FY2017 Appropriations Bill

ALEXANDRIA, Va., (May 9, 2017)—President Trump signed a spending bill that funds federal programs and services through September 2017. PTA vs. Unaffiliated Parent Groups

People often use the names PTA and PTO interchangeably. The fact is, PTA and PTO are two completely different groups.  PTO is a generic acronym for groups not affiliated with PTA. Allen Frear PTA Receives Grant Award

Allen Frear PTA in the Caesar Rodney school district was awarded the National PTA Action for Healthy Kids “Parents for Healthy Kids Game on Grant”. Action for Healthy Kids, supported by ALDI and in collaboration with National PTA awarded approximately 600 schools with Game On grants for the 2017-2018 school year. These grants provide funding for physical activity and nutrition initiatives that support schools in becoming nationally recognized as health-promoting. The grants, funded by ALDI, aim to expand student access to in-school physical activity and healthy foods, improve knowledge and behaviors around exercise and nutrition, and provide funding and support to PTAs
