Your Voice Matters for Investments in Education and Family Engagement

This fall, President Barack Obama signed a Continuing Resolution (CR) into law that funds the government at its current level until Dec. 9. Funding the government through a CR does not account for the annual growth of our nation’s education system nor fund important programs that are included in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)—such as Statewide Family Engagement Centers (SFECs). Therefore, it is critical for Congress to come together to pass an omnibus appropriations bill that funds SFECs and invests in education programs in Fiscal Year 2017 (FY2017).

We need your help reaching out to your members of Congress and urging them to pass an omnibus appropriations bill for FY2017 that funds SFECs and invests in education programs. You can show your support for greater federal investments in education and family engagement in less than two minutes by sending your Member of Congress a letter through PTA’s Takes Action Center. Legislators highly value hearing from their constituents, which is why it is essential that we use the power of our collective voice and Take Action this fall.
