Are you a novice advocate or a veteran? Do you know what education legislation is being introduced this legislative session? Have you ever met with your local state senator or representative? Do you know the difference between local, state and federal policy?
Delaware PTA wants to guide through this process. There will be something for everyone. We are excited to have a very special guest speaker to talk to parents about bullying issues and the laws around this issue. Share your stories and get feedback. Attend a session of a senate/house education committee. Take a tour of legislative hall. Have lunch with elected officials.
We would like to assist you in contacting your local representative and senator to schedule a visit/lunch for you to meet with your elected officials. If you do not know who your local representative and senator is, please go to https://legis.delaware.gov/
Please include the name of your elected officials on the registration form. Be sure to RSVP by May 5th so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
If you are a PTA member this event is complimentary. If you are not a member, you can still join us for just $20 which includes materials and lunch.
