Delaware PTA Statement on DACA

Today the Trump administration announced that they would end DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals)  “Dreamer’s Act”, a program that has protected almost 800,000 young undocumented immigrants from deportation. According to the White House, Trump will revisit the issue in six months if Congress fails to legalize DACA. Delaware graduate recipient of prestigious Coca Cola Scholars Foundation scholarship

July 18, 2017 Congratulations to Grace Otley, 2017 recipient of the Coca – Cola Scholars Foundation scholarship. This is the first time since 2003 that a Delaware senior has been awarded this prestigious scholarship. Grace Otley is 1 of 150 recipients, out of a pool of 86,000 applicants and more than 1,900 semifinalists.  As a Coca-Cola Scholar, Grace traveled to Atlanta Georgia earlier this year to attend the Coca-Cola Scholars Banquet and participate in the Leadership Development Institute. Christina PTA Council Urges Legislators to Fund Education

On behalf of parents, students and teachers in the Christina school district, Christina PTA Council President Mary Schorse sent the following letter to the Delaware General Assembly today Christina Council Budget Letter Schorse echos the sentiments of hundreds of families and educators throughout the state. The stakes are high for Delaware public schools. The General Assembly is tasked with voting on a budget by 11:59pm tonight June 30th.

H.B. duPont PTA Recipient of the NPTA Mary Lou Anderson Arts Enhancement Grant

June 15, 2017 We are excited to announce that H.B.duPont PTA in the Red Clay school district has been named a recipient of the 2017 Mary Lou Anderson ArtsEd grant. H.B duPont will receive $1,000.00 from National PTA to support their arts projects during the 2017-2018 school year. du Pont’s 2017-2018 Proposed Project: H.B. du Pont Meadowood Warriors Empty Bowls Family Arts Project. 204 students will create pottery in their art class, that will be decorated during a family art night (48 families).
