National PTA Honors Life Achievement Winners

State PTA President Dr. Terri Hodges and VP of Advocacy Yvonne Johnson Honored for Years of Service

Alexandria, VA. (October 18, 2016) – National PTA is proud to announce Dr. Terri Hodges and Yvonne Johnson as the latest recipients of National PTA’s Life Achievement Award, the highest honor given to PTA members and leaders. The National PTA Life Achievement Award recognizes a person who lives out his or her commitment to children on a daily basis and tirelessly advocates for children’s education, health and well-being.

Dr. Terri Hodges is currently serving her second term as President of the Delaware State PTA.  Prior to becoming State President, Dr. Hodges served in various roles including Federal Legislative Chair, Region Vice President, local unit leadership and various committee roles. She has been with Delaware PTA for 10 years. Dr. Hodges has also served on the National STEM Taskforce and Strategic Planning Committee. She is actively involved in volunteer work in her community where she had six years of service as a Court Appointed Special Advocate and 5 years of service as the Director for TOPSoccer

 

Yvonne Johnson is the VP of Advocacy for Delaware PTA and is the Immediate Past President. She has served with Delaware PTA for 11 years. Her service to Delaware PTA includes Federal Legislative Chair, Region VP and local unit leadership and various committee role. She has been with Delaware PTA for 11 years. She is currently a National PTA Board Member and serves on the National Resolutions Committee.
