H.B. duPont PTA Recipient of the NPTA Mary Lou Anderson Arts Enhancement Grant

We are excited to announce that H.B.duPont PTA in the Red Clay school district has been named a recipient of the 2017 Mary Lou Anderson ArtsEd grant. H.B duPont will receive $1,000.00 from National PTA to support their arts projects during the 2017-2018 school year.

du Pont’s 2017-2018 Proposed Project: H.B. du Pont Meadowood Warriors Empty Bowls Family Arts Project. 204 students will create pottery in their art class, that will be decorated during a family art night (48 families). These bowls will then be used to support the local food pantry.

The National PTA Mary Lou Anderson Arts Enhancement Grant provides $1,000 in matching funds to support local PTA arts projects within their school community. Funded projects will increase access to learning opportunities in the literary, media, visual and/or performing arts for at-risk or underserved audiences. Arts projects will also actively engage families and community partners to strengthen family-school partnerships. Eligible applicants must be a PTA in good standing, as determined by the State PTA. For more info, please click here.

 

In addition to this award from National PTA,  H.B duPont is also the recipient of a $3,000 grant from Annie’s Garden to install a garden to be used by Family and Consumer Sciences, Meadowood, and Activity blocks.  On May 21’s students, families, teachers and staff came together to build the garden.
